An art-deco IXU violet ray device with rare electrodes.
IXU devices were widely distributed in France in the 1930s. A well-known fault on this machines are they can stuck randomly during operation: they jam. Électro-connexion has been able to add an exclusive fix on this model to eliminate this phenomenon.
This is an rheostat controlled device with an particularly wide adjustment range. A switch get you choose from a very soft to a strong use with two capacitors, a strong to a very intense treatment will be done with a single capacitor. Note the presence of a fuse lamp which offers an overcurrent protection. The monopolar and the bipolar mode allow the possibilities of using an single electrode holder or two simultaneously.

The case and machenery was fully checked and restored. The general patina has been preserved. Apparatus made of bakelite and chromed steel. Operates on 110 or 220 volts. Equipped with two very sharp German-Japanese capacitors (Epcos/TDK). The wiring of the two electrode holders has been revised. The power cable, considered to be in good condition, was not replaced. The latter remains untouched with its original fabric insulation.
